Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor, the Dwarf Victorian Mouthbrooder, originates in the rivers around Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, and the upper Nile River. Males are golden yellow with red in the dorsal and anl fins, while females are tan. Pseudocrenilabrus are dwarf cichlids, only reaching about 3-3.5 inches.
They prefer a dark and sandy substrate and plenty of caves and other areas to hide and feel secure. Males are quite aggressive, particularly towards each other, but pairs should co-exist well even in a smaller area. They will feed on flakes, spirulina, pellets, and small frozen meaty treats.
